THE ECOLODGE

The idea was born from the desire to share with more people and new friends, a bit of much that is living in this little place, with the constant surprises that provide fauna and flora of this part of Atlantic Forest, the Serra do Mar; enjoy the fresh air, see the sunrise and sunset, the moon, watching the approach of rain, the fall of dry twigs, flowers opening, feel the cold and the heat, see the arrival and the flight of birds , listen already known birds and the sounds of new visitors we still didn't know, see and hear trees dropping leaves in autumn, see the ripening fruit and the flood under the rainbow. We could gain a couple of Seriemas trust who built their nest near our house and have already got more than ten puppies. A family of Jacus that feed of fruit, bread and milk we provide to our cats. According season, there is singing of cicadas, frogs, tree frogs and crickets. Not to mention the beautiful scenery we have available, which look more like works of art!!

OURS CHALETS

We are almost at a thousand meters of altitude, zero pollution. Even when we have a sunny day, nights are always cold, the place is very quiet. A night on the Ecolodge is like three or four overnight at city. The cottages are spacious, clean and fumigated, well illuminated and well ventilated. Equipped with a fireplace, offer amenities and various items for your comfort. Bathrooms have good showers. Beds with comfortable spring mattresses and a good bedding, very welcoming. Pillows are great for a good night sleep. The cottages were made in order to provide good relaxation and rest. João Y Maria intends to keep this little place simple and rustic for few people, and thus offer special and differential personalized service. There are three isolated chalets and one twin chalet. All are furnished with a double bed. We may add some extra beds. Check the images below.

CULINARY

Cooking in the Ecolodge João Y Maria has features that you will surely enjoy. Meals served are prepared by Maria Helena also owner. The menu is varied, with traditional dishes from the rural zone , from the beach and mountain, prepared with that home care, using selected ingredients, preferably organic, many of them collected at local garden and on the farm orchard. In addition to care in the preparation, cooking here is seen as a communication tool of good will between who does and who tastes. For her "is the expression of love and brotherhood" as additional spice. It is more than home made, is organic, honest, and with great affection, made by Mamma! Several items served are produced in house: cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream and whipped cream, cooked ham, sausages ham, sweet milk, butter, vegetables, seasonal products such as fruits and lemon juice, orange, cambuci, peach, guava, seasonal jams blackberry, guava, raspberry, peach, "Ume" (Japanese plum), bamboo shoot, breads, cakes, "umeboshi" (tanned Japanese plum in salt for at least three years), truffles plum and cherry liqueur "ume" (tanned Japanese plum in rum for at least one year), produced in a traditional manner, generating a distinctive flavour. For some dishes, items are bought at Taubaté market and fish market in Colony Z-10 Fishermen Ubatuba. The Ecopousada serves meals also to non-guests, just book in advance at least 2 days.

PIZZAS

Pizzas are home made, pre-baked and assembled with flavours and fillings made with quality ingredients. They are roasted to customer demand, in our wood-fired oven.

SUKIYAKI

Traditional dish of Japanese cuisine, prepared on the table, to customers. Each one may puts the preferred ingredients of meat and vegetables in the pan with special sauce.

BARREADO

Typical dish of Parana's coast (Morretes) prepared with various cuts of meat in a clay pot sealed, which is in the wood stove from 9 to 12 hours. The pot is open to customers in time to serve.

PAELLA VALENCIANA

A typical dish of the Spanish tradition, served on special occasions to gather family and friends. Prepared with seafood and assorted meats, rice and spices.
